Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (Per Diem)

Job Description:

Position Summary

Under the leadership of the department director and/or supervisor, the RCP provides respiratory care services to patients of all ages. These services include assessment and reassessment of clinical conditions where indicated, and determination, implementation, and documentation of appropriate therapies. The RCP provides education according to current department standards for patients, families, community members, students and other staff.

Experience

Preferences:

Acute care to include critical care experience (ICU, NICU)

Two (2) years or more experience in field of Respiratory Care preferred

Education

Graduate of a school for Respiratory Therapy.

Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.

Licensure/Certifications

Newly hired employees must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Valid California license for respiratory care. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required. ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment.

Per Diem; 12 hour shifts

$62.67 to

$83.84

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $3.56

Hourly Night Shift Differential: $5.34
