Research Associate

Job Purpose

The ideal candidate will support us in multiple research projects focusing on quantitative research projects in the areas of innovation management, financing, and scaling-up issues in the context of high-tech and entrepreneurial firms.

The position is suitable for candidates with strong academic credentials and an interest in an academic career. The role is a platform to develop research skills by working under close supervision of IIMB faculty. The role-holder will be fully integrated into the vibrant research community at IIMB. Mentorship will be provided to the Research Associate in developing their research skills and preparing for and applying to PhD programs.

Duration

Initially for a period of three months; extendable for additional six months maximum

Reporting to

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Collecting data from secondary sources such as the internet and databases

Cleaning, managing, and analyzing data using Stata

Automating data collection and analysis using AI tools and programs

Helping prepare registered reports, project documentation, and research manuscripts

Conducting background research and literature reviews

Coordinating with project teams and administrative staff for project logistics matters

Qualification and Personal Profile

Candidates are required to hold a master’s degree in management or social sciences or Statistics or Economics or Mathematics or Engineering or Science.

Candidates with Four-year Undergraduate program with distinction from well rated academic institutions are also eligible to apply, if the degree was earned in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.

Key Skill and Ability Requirements

Strong training in econometrics, and statistics

Data scraping using R or Python

Statistical analysis using STATA

Automating basic tasks using AI tools and agents

Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and motivation to work in an academic research environment
