The Research Technician will assist with data analysis and numerical modeling of air pollution using satellite observations.

Opportunities to Contribute:

• •Assemble and operate a numerical modeling system using machine learning and AI.
• •Provide logistical support with data storage in the laboratory.

• •Assist senior staff members in conducting data analysis and modeling procedures.
• •Assist undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.

Participate in training and professional development sessions as needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED

Two years of related experience.

A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

• •Master's Degree in Data Sciences
• •Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing

• •Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff
• •Excellent communication and presentation skills
• •Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• •Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs
• •Ability to orally comprehend and express information and use inductive and deductive reasoning
• •Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff, groups of various sizes
• •Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Salary: $15.85

Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance

The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University researches the physical processes that influence and determine our climate as well as providing insight into how and why the climate changes. This is an enormous topic and covers spatial scales from atmospheric chemistry, aerosol particles, air pollution, cloud particles, with radii of microns, to large-scale atmospheric waves, with length scales of thousands of kilometers. Topics studied in the department include the physics of convection, climate variability, feedback physics, climate sensitivity, climate extremes, and regional modeling. Variability and predictability of climate on seasonal to millennial timescales, coupled ocean-atmosphere interaction, large-scale dynamics of the atmosphere and the oceans.
