Overview:

Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor– Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse Supervisor for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads’ only Level I Trauma Center. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing emergency nursing team where clinical skill, teamwork, and purpose come together to make an immediate impact for patients and families across the region.

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift: Evening-Rotating

Available Hours:

9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

1:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

3:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend availability required

Holiday Rotation: Required

Our 53-bed Emergency Department is equipped to manage a wide range of medical emergencies, with approximately 10% of cases related to trauma .

As part of a Level I Trauma Center, you will work alongside experienced emergency medicine providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care when patients need it most. Nurses in this department gain exposure to complex emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, critical care, and specialty cases while building advanced clinical skills in a collaborative environment.

Education Requirements

BSN Required

Certification/Licensure Requirements

Registered Nurse license required

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

2 years RN experience Required

Emergency Department experience preferred

One year Nursing Leadership/Supervisory experience required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $104,416.00 - $154,356.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
