The RHT Mobile Simulation Consultant adjunct role supports the planning, training, and start-up development of the mobile simulation component of the Rural Health Transformation initiative. This adjunct position focuses primarily on assisting with the development and coordination of personnel training, onboarding processes, and operational readiness activities needed to launch the mobile simulation program. The consultant serves as a simulation subject matter expert, providing input on workflow design, equipment selection, procurement planning, and operational processes. Working closely with RHT simulation leadership and the full-time mobile simulation position, this role supports the establishment of effective systems and staff readiness during program implementation. This position is intended to support start-up planning and workforce preparation rather than the ongoing management of the full-time mobile simulation program.
This is a part-time adjunct consultant role. Approximately 10 hours per week, with workload varying based on project needs, meeting schedules, procurement activities, and other engagements.
Duties/Responsibilities
Personnel Training & Coordination Support (35%)
- Assist in developing onboarding and training processes for personnel supporting mobile simulation activities.
- Support the coordination of training activities, orientation sessions, competency development, and operational readiness efforts related to mobile simulation deployment.
- Serve as a simulation operations resource to RHT simulation leadership and mobile simulation staff regarding best practices for simulation delivery and field operations.
- Help identify personnel roles, responsibilities, and staffing processes needed to support mobile simulation activities.
- Contribute to the development of training materials, operational guides, checklists, and readiness resources.
- Support workforce preparation efforts to ensure consistency, safety, and effectiveness in mobile simulation operations.
Equipment & Procurement Consultation (25%)
- Provide subject matter expertise regarding simulation equipment, supplies, technology, transport, and mobile deployment considerations.
- Assist with equipment research, vendor communication, market evaluation, and purchasing recommendations.
- Support procurement documentation and planning activities related to the mobile simulation fleet.
- Offer recommendations regarding equipment readiness, inventory management, maintenance considerations, and replacement planning.
- Help ensure selected equipment aligns with training objectives and mobile simulation operational needs.
Workflow & Program Development Support (20%)
- Provide input on operational workflows, scheduling processes, communication pathways, and coordination procedures for the mobile simulation program.
- Assist in evaluating proposed systems and identifying opportunities for efficiency and consistency.
- Support the development of project timelines, implementation plans, and operational readiness activities.
- Offer recommendations to RHT simulation leadership on process improvement and program implementation strategies.
Partner Engagement & Needs Assessment Support (20%)
- Assist with gathering information from rural health partners to identify workforce development and training needs.
- Support needs assessment activities by organizing feedback and identifying operational considerations for mobile simulation delivery.
- Collaborate with RHT simulation leadership to align workforce training strategies with identified partner needs.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and planning discussions as requested.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Masters degree in a health-related field and two years of simulation, administrative, program coordination, project support, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in healthcare, education, public health, or community programs is beneficial.
- Coursework, certification, or professional development in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Agile, Lean or equivalent applied experience), and experience managing or coordinating multi-site or multi-partner initiatives, particularly in grant-funded or community-based settings.
Required Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license (occasional travel to rural partner sites may be required).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated project management skills, including task coordination, timeline development, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication in complex environments.
- Knowledge of project management approaches or frameworks (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Agile, Lean, or equivalent applied experience).
- Experience managing or coordinating multi‑site, multi‑partner, or grant‑funded initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with productivity tools, scheduling platforms, and data-management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, faculty, technical staff, and rural partners.

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and support event or training logistics as needed. Occasional travel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in healthcare, public health, education, administration, or related field.
- Coursework, certification, or professional development in simulation
- Experience coordinating programs in clinical, academic, or rural‑health settings.
- Experience with grant-funded projects or workforce development programs.
- Familiarity with rural health systems, partner engagement, or distributed clinical education.

Compensation Pay Range:
$ 48/hour
