We are currently seeking a full-time Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate would be highly detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous learning. This role is well suited for someone with practical knowledge and/or relevant experience in construction safety while supporting both the administrative and field operations of our Safety team. The position will be primarily based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office, with regular visits to NYC job sites as needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in both office and field environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent combinations of education, training and related experience.

1-2+ years of Construction Safety experience, preferably Heavy Civil and Utility.

Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.

Familiarity with Job Hazard and Job Safety Analyses.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including a proven ability to organize, manipulate, and manage large, complex data sets and spreadsheets.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Strong attention to detail and highly organized in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish goals.

Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.

Strong interpersonal skills, and able to communicate effectively with field crews and project staff.

Certifications:

OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

Support the administrative maintenance of project and corporate safety records, including inspections, safety forms, certifications, trainings, and reports.

Track worker certifications, trainings, and credentials.

Review Job Hazard Analyses with input from project teams.

Help schedule safety trainings and record attendance.

Assist with data entry, document preparation, filing, and recordkeeping.

Visit job sites periodically to assess compliance with company safety protocols through safety observations and inspections.

Assist the Safety staff and project teams to follow up on corrective actions.
