Safety Risk Analyst

Help shape safer decisions and drive a proactive risk culture across a nationally important military training programme.

Play a vital role in safeguarding the British Army’s collective training environment. As a Safety Risk Analyst, you'll be at the heart of identifying, assessing and managing training-related safety risks, ensuring leaders and stakeholders have the insight they need to make informed, risk-based decisions. Working across a diverse network of collective training establishments, you'll use centralised risk management systems to monitor emerging risks, maintain accurate and meaningful risk data, and drive continuous improvements in safety culture. Building trusted relationships, influencing key stakeholders and supporting safer training outcomes, you'll help ensure that risk management is embedded in everything we do.

Job Description:

• 🕒 Permanent role - 37.5 hours a week
• 📍 Hybrid role with 2 or 3 days a week in Warminster

🔐 Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at BPSS level.

What you’ll be doing

• •Maintain the accuracy of the risk register across the full range of collective training establishments
• •Inform Training Risk Lead of changes to risk
• •Understand relevant training policy and safety management to provide coherence across the risk register
• •Support the Training Risk Lead in the awareness and utility of the training risk register to reinforce a safety culture
• •Record short notice safety notifications
• •Collect, validate, and analyse safety data (e.g., accidents/incidents, near misses, hazards, audits, inspections, observations).
• •Support incident and near-miss investigations by providing evidence, analysing contributing factors, and documenting findings.
• •Support compliance with health and safety legislation, internal policies, and relevant industry standards.
• •Work with operational teams to promote safety awareness and encourage reporting of hazards and near misses.

What we’re looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• •Experience in a safety, risk, compliance, quality, or assurance role (or strong transferable analytical experience).
• •Understanding of safety risk assessment principles and incident investigation processes.
• •Strong analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail.
• •Ability to interpret safety legislation, policies, procedures, and standards and apply them practically.
• •Confidence working with data (Excel/BI tools desirable) to identify patterns and produce clear insights.
• •Strong written communication skills, including report writing and presenting findings clearly.
• •Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines in a structured way.
• •Ability to challenge appropriately, escalate concerns, and maintain professional integrity.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• •Experience working within a regulated, contract-led, or operational environment (desirable).
• •Familiarity with safety reporting systems and maintaining risk/action logs (desirable).
• •Knowledge of the military/Army
