Safety Risk Manager

Help shape safer decisions and drive a proactive risk culture across a nationally important military training programme.

Are you passionate about creating safer environments, influencing strategic decision-making, and ensuring risk is understood before it becomes an issue? We're looking for an experienced Risk Manager to play a key role in The Army Collective Training System, leading the identification, assessment and management of risk across a complex and highly regulated training environment. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you'll help shape a proactive risk culture, provide expert advice on risk exposure, and ensure the right controls are in place to support safe, effective and successful delivery.

Job Description:

• 🕒 Permanent role - 37.5 hours a week
• 📍 Hybrid role with 2 or 3 days a week in Warminster

🔐 Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at BPSS level.

What you’ll be doing

• •Provide risk management for the force preparation risks and training delivery risks identified and captured through the Analysing, Designing, Delivery of collective training services.
• •Conduct Functional Safety Analysis, Preliminary Hazard Identification and Analysis (PHI&A) and Organisational Safety Assessments.
• •Create and manage the Safety Risk Register in accordance with Joint Service Publication 822, 892 and 375.
• •Identify and manage safety risks against the safe system of work.
• •Provide oversight and line management of the Safety Risk Analyst who is responsible for the risk management of all training safety risks.
• •Identify and escalate relevant risks that have exceeded the threshold to wider stakeholders for enhanced mitigation or the cessation of training.
• •Act as a champion for the British Army’s training safety culture.
• •Ensure training risks are tracked, managed and communicated in a timely and relevant manner across key stakeholders

What we’re looking for

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• •Proven experience within safety risk management, governance, assurance, or compliance role experience within a regulated industry.
• •Understanding of internal controls, governance structures, and assurance processes.
• •Experience working with senior stakeholders and supporting governance decision‑making.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• •Knowledge and experience of collective training
• •Knowledge of the military/Army
