We are seeking an experienced Security Architect (Fortinet) to provide technical leadership and architecture governance for enterprise security environments. The role is responsible for defining and evolving security architectures, including firewall strategies, network segmentation, IPS/IDS frameworks, cloud security integration, and operational security controls. As a senior technical authority, you will support complex security incidents and changes while ensuring security designs remain resilient, compliant, and operationally sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Design, implement, and govern enterprise security architectures with a focus on Fortinet FortiGate environments.
• •Define security standards, firewall policies, segmentation strategies, and IPS/IDS architectures.
• •Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on cloud security integration and operational security controls.
• •Support and oversee complex security changes, major incidents, and root cause investigations.
• •Ensure security solutions align with compliance, resilience, and business requirements.
• •Develop and maintain security governance frameworks, standards, and technical documentation.
• •Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and operations teams to ensure secure and supportable platform designs.
• •Act as the senior escalation point for security-related technical challenges and architectural decisions.
• •Promote continuous improvement and security best practices across the environment.

Required Qualifications:

• •Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise security architectures.
• •Strong expertise in Fortinet FortiGate , network security, firewall technologies, and security operations.
• •Deep understanding of network segmentation, IPS/IDS technologies, secure architecture principles, and cloud security integration.
• •Experience supporting complex security incidents, risk mitigation, and compliance requirements.
• •Ability to balance security objectives with operational practicality and maintainability.
• •Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• •Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist ( FCSS ) in Network Security or equivalent NSE7-level certification
• •Fortinet Certified Expert ( FCX ) preferred for lead architecture responsibilities
• •Certified Information Systems Security Professional ( CISSP )
• •Additional Security, Network, Storage, or Compute infrastructure certifications are advantageous

Language Requirement:

• •German language proficiency at minimum B2 level is mandatory.
• •The role requires the ability to participate in technical discussions, security reviews, incident coordination, change management activities, and day-to-day communication with German-speaking stakeholders, customers, and operational teams.

Citizenship Requirement:

Applicants must hold Swiss citizenship.

• •Candidates should be based in, or regularly available within the Winterthur region to support customer engagement, operational alignment, coordination with onsite and remote-hands teams, and participation in governance, escalation, architecture, and service review meetings as required.
