Security Guard - Per Diem

JOB SUMMARY

Assist in the safety and welfare of patients, staff and visitors. Provides campus security.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• •Make hourly rounds to both floors of the hospital, checking locks and doors, leaks, blown light bulbs, and machinery making unusual noises. The boiler room is checked on each round.
• •Escort employees to the parking lots for safety when requested
• •Provide courier service for the hospital when needed
• •Respond to all calls for assistance
• •Reports directly to the lead security guard during the week, and may be called upon to assist in other department related activities
• •Reports directly to the night supervisor for any emergencies or unusual orders during evenings and weekends
• •Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with DOH accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including code of conduct.

Hours: Per Diem, Various Shifts. Weekends required.

Salary: $19.49 - $22.24 per hour based on experience, along with a $2.00 per hour per diem incentive.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

• •1 year of field experience is preferred
• •Custom service experience is preferred

EDUCATION

• •High School Diploma or Equivalent
• •8 hour Pre-Licensing course
• •16 hours "On the Job Training" course
• •8 hours "Annual Training" course

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS

New York State Security Guard License
