Apply TD credit policies, lending guidelines, operating procedures and risk appetite to higher-risk equipment finance situations.

Monitor assigned accounts comprehensively, including covenant performance, arrears, collateral position, legal/enforcement status and emerging industry risks.

Use independent judgment and financial analysis to determine whether turnaround, restructure, realization or exit is the appropriate path.

Operate in a compliant manner and complete all regulatory, operational risk, conduct and compliance requirements within required timelines.

Partner with Financial Restructuring Group (FRG), TDEF Credit, Commercial Banking, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely decisions.

Share lessons learned and best practices to strengthen TDEF risk management, early-warning discipline and portfolio controls.

Customer Relationships

Approach clients with professionalism, empathy and respect, while maintaining clear expectations and protecting the Bank’s interests.

Lead difficult conversations and negotiate practical repayment, restructuring or settlement solutions in a fair and commercially sound manner.

Deliver a consistent customer experience by communicating clearly, following through on commitments and resolving issues with urgency.

Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business, industry, equipment collateral and broader economic factors affecting repayment capacity.

Represent TDEF and TD professionally with customers, advisors, legal counsel, receivers, trustees and community/professional contacts.

Act as a trusted equipment finance subject matter expert and help position TDEF as a leading, relationship-focused equipment finance provider.

Team Dynamic

Contribute to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture where diverse perspectives are valued.

Build strong working relationships with TDEF partners, Commercial Banking, Credit, FRG, Operations and external professional firms.

Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to colleagues on complex files, negotiation approach, credit analysis, documentation standards and recovery strategy.

Act as a resource and escalation point in areas of personal expertise, supporting consistent decisions and strong execution across the Unit.

Invest in ongoing learning to strengthen expertise in equipment finance, insolvency/restructuring practices, collateral values, industry trends and TD systems.

Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Commercial Credit, Commercial Banking, Equipment Finance, Special Loans, Late Stage Collections, Restructuring or Workout.

Experience with impaired loans, financial restructuring, insolvency proceedings, enforcement, recovery strategy or asset realization is a strong asset.

Strong financial statement analysis, credit writing, negotiation, problem-solving and relationship management skills.
