Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

Join Stryker’s Finance team in a senior accounting role responsible for complex general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close. You will also review key accounting activities, support process coordination, and maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

What you will do

• •Serve as a subject matter expert for general accounting processes and provide guidance to new and existing team members.
• •Perform complex accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, cash accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis.
• •Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
• •Coordinate closing activities and other key accounting deliverables in collaboration with the Supervisor or Lead Analyst.
• •Execute assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and support internal and external audit requirements while maintaining compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• •Partner with local accounting teams and markets to investigate discrepancies, resolve accounting issues and queries, and escalate matters when required.
• •Support the migration of accounting processes across countries in scope and create and maintain related process and procedure documentation.
• •Identify root causes of accounting issues and opportunities to simplify, standardize, or improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

What you will need

Required

• •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• •Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or general accounting.
• •Experience with journal entry processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, fixed assets, or related general accounting activities.
• •English proficiency at B2 level.
• •Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts, and formulas.

Preferred

• •Experience working in a shared services environment or within a large, global, or multinational organization.
• •Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• •Experience using SAP or JD Edwards.
