We are seeking a Senior AI Data Engineer to design, build, and scale next-generation data platforms that enable trusted, intelligent access to enterprise information. You will help shape semantic data architectures, modernise data ecosystems, and deliver AI-ready solutions that accelerate decision-making and business value. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will develop secure, scalable, and future-focused data capabilities, leveraging Generative AI to enhance data accessibility, automation, and operational efficiency across the enterprise.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Design and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that enable trusted access to enterprise information and support advanced analytics and AI-driven business outcomes.
• •Build and optimise enterprise data pipelines that transform complex data into high-quality, consumable assets for analytics, reporting, and intelligent applications.
• •Establish robust data quality, governance, monitoring, and validation practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of business-critical data.
• •Develop reusable data products, frameworks, and services that improve engineering efficiency and accelerate the delivery of data and AI initiatives.
• •Design and maintain enterprise semantic models that create a consistent understanding of business metrics, entities, and relationships across the organisation.
• •Enable self-service analytics and natural language access to data by developing semantic frameworks that simplify data discovery and improve business accessibility.
• •Leverage Generative AI to enhance data engineering processes, automate metadata generation, accelerate data modelling activities, and improve operational efficiency.
• •Design and deliver AI-powered data solutions that enable intelligent information retrieval, contextual data discovery, and conversational access to enterprise knowledge.
• •Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, data professionals, and AI practitioners to translate business challenges into scalable, value-driven solutions.
• •Promote engineering excellence, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of AI-fluent ways of working to build future-ready data capabilities.

Required Skills

• •Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions and modern data platforms.
• •Strong expertise in building scalable data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• •Deep understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, semantic modelling, metadata management, and data governance principles.
• •Advanced SQL skills with experience optimising complex queries and designing high-performance analytical data solutions.
• •Strong Python development experience for data engineering, automation, and data platform development.
• •Experience developing cloud-native data architectures and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions.
• •Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, observability, monitoring, and data reliability engineering practices.
• •Experience designing and implementing enterprise semantic layers, business metrics, data cataloguing, and metadata-driven architectures.
• •Hands-on experience delivering Generative AI-powered data solutions, including Retrieval-ugmented Generation (RAG), AI-assisted data discovery, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.
• •Experience developing AI-enabled applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to interact with enterprise data.
• •Knowledge of vector search concepts, embeddings, semantic retrieval, and contextual information access patterns.
• •Experience designing intelligent agents capable of data discovery, query generation, information retrieval, and workflow automation.
• •Strong understanding of enterprise data security, governance, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
• •Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data and AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• •Excellent stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and consulting skills.
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
• •Passion for AI innovation and building future-ready data capabilities within enterprise organisations.
