Senior AI Deployment Engineer - Intelligent Vehicles AIML

We develop the AI platform enabling onboard reasoning, visual intelligence and agentic AI in current and next-gen BMW vehicles. Our mission is to bring state-of-the-art AI, from foundation models to Edge AI, into production at global scale, creating AI-powered experiences for millions of customers worldwide.

What awaits you?

• •You own the optimization and deployment of deep learning models onto automotive Neural Processing Units (NPUs) and other embedded hardware accelerators.
• •You drive the development of Edge AI toolchains and pipelines that optimize and compile state-of-the-art AI models for efficient, real-time onboard inference.
• •You design and implement performance-critical C/C++ components that bridge AI models and automotive hardware, maximizing throughput while meeting strict latency, memory and power constraints.
• •You benchmark, profile and debug model performance on target SoCs, closing the gap between research prototypes and production-ready onboard AI features.
• •Through AI safety, governance and compliance by design, you help build trustworthy automotive AI.

What should you bring along?

• •A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning or a related field.
• •Proven experience in deploying and optimizing deep learning models on embedded hardware and hardware accelerators such as NPUs, GPUs or DSPs.
• •Strong software engineering skills in C/C++, with hands-on experience in hardware acceleration, low-level performance tuning and embedded systems development.
• •Solid understanding of deep learning model architectures (e.g. CNNs, transformers) and model optimization techniques such as quantization and pruning.
• •Proficiency with modern AI deployment frameworks such as ONNX, TensorRT, ExecuTorch, or vendor-specific NPU SDKs.
• •A proven track record of taking AI solutions from prototype to production in fast-paced engineering environments.
