  • We are looking for a Senior AML & Crypto Analyst to join Grey, responsible for investigating complex AML, transaction monitoring, sanctions, fraud, and crypto-related financial crime activity and maintain the compliance of Grey in matters of Enforcement engagement, influence policy and full compliance with all the applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct end-to-end AML and financial crime investigations.

Review customer profiles, transaction activity, source of funds/wealth, and unusual account behaviour.

Investigate cryptocurrency transactions and conduct blockchain/wallet analysis using tools such as Chainalysis and Elliptic.

Identify exposure to sanctioned entities, high-risk wallets, fraud, mixers, and other financial crime typologies.

Review and investigate alerts generated from crypto transaction monitoring systems, applying risk-based judgement to distinguish genuine suspicious activity from false positives.

Analyse on-chain and off-chain activity to identify unusual patterns, typologies, and red flags (e.g., mixing services, darknet exposure, sanctioned wallets, high-risk jurisdictions, layering/structuring, and rapid movement between fiat and crypto).

Analyze transaction data and identify emerging financial crime patterns and typologies.

Support the enhancement of AML, KYT, transaction monitoring, and wallet-risk controls.

Maintain accurate, well-documented, and audit-ready investigation records.

Provide practical training and guidance to colleagues on crypto-specific risks, typologies, and best practices in transaction monitoring and onboarding.

Represent the function professionally during internal and external discussions relating to crypto financial crime risk.

Contribute to tuning and calibration of crypto monitoring scenarios, thresholds, and rules to improve effectiveness and reduce noise.

Influence policies of crypto and define the risk appetite.

Act as primary liaison with enforcement authorities when needed.

Manage full crypto compliance from end-end aligning with the Head of Compliance.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in AML, financial crime, transaction monitoring, or investigations.

Hands-on experience with crypto and blockchain investigations.

Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, KYC/KYB, sanctions, and financial crime typologies.

Experience with Chainalysis, Fireblocks, Elliptic or similar blockchain analytics tools.

Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.

Experience setting up crypto process

Experience working with global law enforcements and asset recovery.

Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or digital assets preferred.

SQL/data-analysis and experience being able to create AI agents is a plus.
