Senior Backend Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer based in Canada.

• This is a senior engineering opportunity to help establish the technical foundation of a brand-new, highly visible SaaS application.
• You will play a key role in shaping architecture, engineering standards, and foundational backend capabilities that will support the product as it scales.
• The role combines advanced backend development with an AI-first engineering approach, including agentic AI workflows and modern development tooling.
• You will build cloud-native services using C#/.NET, Event Sourcing, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, and AWS.
• Beyond implementation, you will contribute to technical direction, mentor engineers, and help establish practices for a high-performing development team.
• The environment emphasizes ownership, automation, quality, rapid iteration, and the practical application of AI throughout the development lifecycle.
• This is a fully remote role in Canada, offering the opportunity to make foundational technical decisions on a new product from the beginning.
