We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone determined, someone like you.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Change Manager to help drive the successful adoption of key cyber security, data and AI initiatives across Cancer Research UK. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the people side of change, identifying impacts, building engagement, and delivering strategies that ensure colleagues are ready, supported and confident in embracing new ways of working. In this role, you will help to create a lasting impact, enabling our people to embrace change with confidence and maximise the value of critical strategic initiatives.

What will be some of the main responsibilities?

Key Accountabilities:

Define, develop and deliver a shared change management plan, in line with collective outcomes.

Conduct robust change impact and readiness assessments, assessing the current landscape.

Create persona groups to inform change planning across the organisation.

Design the required change management interventions required to successfully embed the changes, working closely with each programme, and with specific attention to people, mindset and culture change.

Prepare the organisation for the changes ahead, working with members of the programme teams to evaluate and iterate the change plan through delivery.

Influencing key senior stakeholders at all levels across the charity, supporting them in their roles and responsibilities to drive behaviour change in support of the change management plan.

Driving the consistent application of Prosci® ADKAR methodology throughout the change lifecycle, to deliver a best practice approach to change management

Enable the handover of plans and capability, support the transition into Business as Usual and move towards continuous improvement.

What skills are we looking for?

Significant experience of delivering data and technology change in organisation-wide transformation programmes.

Extensive experience leading the development, delivery, evaluation and iteration of change management plans that has led to successful adoption of changes within a large organisation

Demonstrable expert knowledge and experience of applying business change principles, frameworks, tools, and techniques to achieve required outcomes and benefits.

Significant stakeholder engagement and influencing experience at all levels, with the ability to establish credibility and gain buy in to make change happen.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information simply to a variety of audiences at all levels

Confident in navigating organisational complexity, specifically within data and technology delivery and how this links to and depends on broader business transformation programmes.

Strong project management and organisational skills, and a high awareness of the project and programme context and discipline. Fully competent at planning, risk management, and dependency-management.

What will I gain?

Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer. We think that’s impressive.

In return, we make sure you are supported by a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools, policies and processes to enable you to do your job well.

Our benefits package includes a substantial retirement plan, a generous and flexible leave allowance, discounts on anything from travel to technology, gym membership, and much more.

We don’t forget people have lives outside of work too and so we actively encourage a flexible working culture.

Our work – from funding cutting-edge research to developing public policy – will change the world. It’s exciting to be part of our team.

How do I apply?

We operate an anonymised shortlisting process in our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. CVs are required for all applications; but we won’t be able to view them until we invite you for an interview. Instead, we ask you to complete the work history section of the online application form for us to be able to assess you quickly, fairly and objectively.

If you’re interested in applying and excited about working with us but are unsure if you have the right skills and experience we’d still love to hear from you. We don’t expect everyone to meet all of the criteria listed.

We want to see every candidate performing at their best throughout the job application process, interview process and whilst at work. We therefore ask you to inform us of any concerns you have or any adjustments you might need to enable this to happen by emailing us at recruitment@cancer.org.uk .
