This is an exciting opportunity to influence major growth projects from inception through to delivery while contributing to Australia's evolving energy landscape.
While Brisbane is the preferred location for this role, we're also open to considering candidates based in Melbourne or Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop commercial strategies, risk allocation frameworks and negotiation positions that support the successful delivery of new gas-powered generation projects.
- Lead and contribute to commercial due diligence activities, providing insights and recommendations that inform investment decisions, business cases and governance approvals.
- Build trusted relationships with customers, project partners and key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and creating long-term value across the project lifecycle.
- Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities, balancing strategic objectives with sound commercial outcomes for APA.
- Stay abreast of market, regulatory and industry developments, translating insights into practical recommendations that support project competitiveness and future growth.
Your background
- You will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a related discipline, providing a strong foundation for commercial decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
- You will bring significant experience in commercial or business development roles, with a demonstrated ability to structure and negotiate complex commercial arrangements in large-scale infrastructure, energy or capital projects.
- You will have a strong understanding of commercial risk allocation and contract negotiation, with the ability to develop practical solutions that balance strategic objectives, commercial outcomes and risk management requirements.
- You will bring experience supporting or leading complex transactions, including the development of business cases, commercial evaluations and governance approval processes.
- You will have the ability to build trusted relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, using your influencing and communication skills to drive alignment and achieve successful project outcomes.
- You will bring strong commercial acumen and an interest in the evolving energy market, with the ability to analyse market developments and translate insights into informed commercial recommendations.
