Summary of This Role

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable data solutions across cloud and legacy platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with SQL, DBT, Snowflake, Python, and Spark, along with familiarity integrating AWS services, IBM DataStage, and mainframe data—including copybooks.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• •Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows.
• •Build and optimize DBT models and Snowflake workloads, with attention to performance, data quality, and cost.
• •Develop data-processing applications and automation using Python and Apache Spark.
• •Integrate data from cloud, relational, and mainframe systems, including files defined by COBOL copybooks.
• •Support and modernize existing IBM DataStage workflows while enabling migration to cloud-based platforms.
• •Apply software engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
• •Collaborate with product, analytics, architecture, and operations teams to translate requirements into dependable data solutions.
• •Troubleshoot production issues and improve pipeline reliability, observability, and operational support.

What Are We Looking for in This Role?

Required Qualifications

• •Significant professional software engineering or data engineering 5+ years of experience.
• •Strong SQL skills, including query development, optimization, and data modeling.
• •Hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake.
• •Proficiency in Python and experience building data-processing solutions with Apache Spark.
• •Experience with AWS data services and cloud-based application or pipeline deployment.
• •Knowledge of IBM DataStage and enterprise data integration patterns.
• •Familiarity with mainframe data formats and the ability to interpret COBOL copybooks.
• •Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• •Preferred Qualifications
• •Experience modernizing legacy data platforms or migrating workloads to the cloud.
• •Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data governance.
• •Experience with orchestration, monitoring, and automated data-quality testing.
• •Familiarity with Agile delivery and CI/CD practices.
• •Good understanding of data lake concepts, ETL patterns, data modeling, distributed data processing.
• •Experience developing and supporting production data pipelines
