Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team at ABB Drive Products. In this position, you will be a part of our DevOps team maintaining and developing a common delivery pipeline for our in-house embedded firmware development teams. As a DevOps engineer you ensure that firmware build, testing and release activities can be effectively executed every day while identifying improvement opportunities in delivery pipeline. This role is located in Helsinki, Finland. You will be working in a global software development organization of over 100 developers and testers.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• •Managing and developing continuous integration build infra-architecture globally for embedded firmware
• •Improving and creating key metrics, such as lead time and deployment frequency
• •Supporting cybersecurity experts with e.g. code signing, security testing, and scans in build pipelines
• •Acting as the link between development and operations organizations (incl. manufacturing), coordinating with production testers, software, and project teams
• •Developing your management and communication skills by coaching engineers working with different products, projects, and teams
• •Working and networking with engineering colleagues, disseminating best practices

Qualifications for the role

• •Solid experience with CI/CD infrastructure, working for example as DevOps or IS systems engineer with CI/CD, cloud and virtualization technologies, such as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Artifactory, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm
• •Previous DevOps expertise on senior level
• •Experience in establishing new practices and ways of working across organizational boundaries
• •Experience from working with embedded systems, for example, as test automation engineer or from electronics projects is beneficial
• •Working knowledge of security is beneficial. Especially familiarity with IEC 62443 standard, code signing, and security testing are considered as an advantage
• •A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
• •A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, along with good written and spoken communication skills in English
