Role Overview
The Senior Director, Medical Information (MI), will build and lead the Medical Information function in preparation for launch and future pipeline growth. This role will establish the strategy, infrastructure, content, governance, and external vendor partnerships needed for a scalable, compliant MI capability. A critical focus will be the end-to-end readiness of the MI call center vendor, from onboarding and integration through training, escalation pathways, quality oversight, and ongoing performance.
The Senior Director will also lead MI scientific content and evidence dossiers, oversee NCCN Compendia submissions, contribute to medical review and post-approval activities, and translate inquiry trends into actionable insights that inform Medical Affairs strategy.

Location : Fully Remote, US
Salary Range : $270,000 - $295,000
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in life sciences
- 15+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, with substantial Medical Information and/or Medical Affairs experience and increasing leadership responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent).
- Oncology experience strongly preferred; cell therapy experience is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting a U.S. product launch, particularly in an emerging or first-launch biotech environment.
- Experience building or scaling MI systems, processes, content capabilities, or launch-readiness infrastructure.
- Experience developing MI scientific content, including SRLs, custom medical responses, and FAQs.
- Demonstrated experience managing MI call center vendors, including onboarding, training, escalations, quality, and performance oversight.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. MI requirements, unsolicited inquiry response, pharmacovigilance and product complaint reporting, and relevant compliance standards.
- Strong scientific writing and judgment, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, balanced responses.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced biotech environment with multiple launch-critical priorities.
- Experience with payer evidence dossiers, NCCN Compendia or other oncology guideline/pathway submissions, and medical review committees.
- Experience with MI technology platforms, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
In this role you will:
MI Strategy & Infrastructure Development
- Build and evolve the U.S. MI strategy, operating model, and infrastructure for launch and pipeline growth.
- Establish governance, workflows, intake and triage processes, response standards, escalation pathways, and content lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain MI SOPs, work instructions, training standards, and quality processes.
- Define the MI technology roadmap, including inquiry management, content repositories, literature surveillance, analytics, and appropriate use of AI-enabled tools.
Call Center Vendor Management & Launch Readiness
- Lead onboarding, integration, training, and ongoing management of the MI call center vendor.
- Own call center launch readiness, including systems, content, workflows, escalation pathways, safety and product complaint reporting, service levels, and business continuity.
- Establish vendor training and certification processes that evolve with new data, labeling and business needs.
- Oversee complex and escalated inquiries and connect the vendor with internal scientific experts when needed.
- Establish vendor KPIs, quality monitoring, governance, audit readiness, and corrective-action processes, including readiness assessments and launch simulations ahead of key milestones.
Scientific Content Leadership
- Lead MI content strategy and oversee development and maintenance of Standard Response Letters (SRLs), custom medical responses, FAQs, and other scientific response materials.
- Ensure MI content is accurate, current, evidence-based, balanced, and updated as new clinical data, safety information, labeling, and evidence emerges.
- Lead literature review, data synthesis, and development of responses to complex or novel unsolicited inquiries.
- Support scientific congresses with inquiry coverage, reference materials, escalation planning, and post-congress content updates.
Evidence Dossiers, Guidelines & Compendia
- Lead the development and lifecycle management of AMCP dossiers and other payer evidence resources in partnership with Medical Affairs, HEOR/RWE, Market Access, Regulatory, Legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead development and submission of evidence packages to the NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium, coordinating cross-functional input, review, and submission requirements.
- Support evidence submissions for other oncology guidelines and clinical pathways in collaboration with relevant internal experts.
- Ensure dossier and guideline/compendia materials are updated as evidence and external requirements change.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Medical Review
- Serve as a scientific reviewer in PRC/MLR/MRC, with focus on medical accuracy, context, and balance.
- Partner cross-functionally to support post-approval long-term follow-up requirements for cellular therapies, including potential CIBMTR registry participation, postmarketing evidence activities, and related MI content and inquiry support.
- Partner across Medical Affairs, Clinical, Safety, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, Market Access, HEOR/RWE, Quality, and Commercial to support launch and ongoing MI needs.
- Bring MI expertise to launch planning, including labeling readiness and interpretation, content priorities, inquiry forecasting, training, and day-one readiness.
Insights, Metrics & Reporting
- Establish MI metrics and reporting to monitor inquiry trends, service performance, and emerging scientific needs.
- Translate MI inquiries and trends into actionable insights that inform Medical Affairs strategy, content development, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Share key insights and performance updates with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional partners.
Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and develop the MI organization over time, including internal talent, contractors, vendor support, medical writing, and technology capabilities.
- Develop annual and longer-range MI plans, priorities, resource needs, and budgets.
- Foster a culture of scientific quality, accountability, collaboration, and practical problem-solving.
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 10–20% travel, including scientific congresses, vendor meetings, and internal meetings; occasional international travel may be required.
