• Position Summary
• The EHS Advisor will promote excellence in EHS performance through the effective implementation of the EHS Management System, ensuring compliance with legal, GSK and other applicable standards while driving continuous improvement through risk management. The role provides technical guidance, training and support to managers and employees, leads incident prevention and investigation activities, monitors and reports EHS performance, conducts audits, and contributes to EHS strategies, plans and procedures. In addition, the role will champion environmental sustainability by supporting initiatives to improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, strengthen compliance, and embed sustainability principles into site operations, projects and business decision-making, helping to advance GSK's environmental objectives and foster a culture that recognises the links between sustainability, business resilience and human health.

• Responsibilities
• This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• •Environmental Sustainability & Compliance – Lead environmental compliance, audits, monitoring and sustainability initiatives; drive reductions in energy, emissions, water and waste while supporting environmental standards and reporting.
• •EHS Advice & Subject Matter Expertise – Provide practical EHS guidance and support to managers and employees, acting as the site SME for assigned EHS topics.
• •Project, Process & Strategy Support – Support projects, NPI and facility changes, ensuring EHS considerations are embedded throughout the lifecycle and contributing to EHS strategies, policies and legal compliance.
• •Performance Monitoring & Reporting – Manage EHS metrics, adverse event reporting and KPI analysis, identifying trends and ensuring compliance with legal and company reporting requirements.
• •Audit, Assurance & Continuous Improvement – Lead and support audits, management monitoring activities and CAPA programmes, driving compliance, risk reduction and continual improvement.
• •Training, Communication & Emergency Response – Deliver EHS training, promote a strong safety culture through effective communications, and provide incident coordination support during site emergencies.

• Location and working pattern
• This role full time on-site and based in the United Kingdom at our Barnard Castle site.

• Basic Qualification
• We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
• - As a minimum the role holder would hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• - Demonstrable knowledge of environmental management systems, environmental legislation and sustainability principles. Experience of environmental compliance assurance, ISO 14001 management systems, waste management, energy reduction programmes, water stewardship or carbon reduction initiatives would be advantageous.

- Ability to influence environmental performance through project support, auditing, data analysis and continuous improvement activities.

- General EHS, Construction, Process Safety, Fire or Occupational Hygiene.

• Preferred Qualification
• If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
• - The role holder should hold or be working towards a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
• - Certified audit training to a recognised standard (eg ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO45001 etc) is preferred for those leading EHS Audits.
