Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

The Project Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the electrical engineering team in a remote site operations environment, ensuring that all electrical design and construction activities are executed in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and client specifications for the UAE projects.

Your Role

• •Lead and supervise the electrical engineering team to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
• •Review and verify electrical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment schedules for compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and engineering best practices.
• •Conduct technical reviews of power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding and lightning protection systems, ELV interfaces, and other electrical infrastructure.
• •Evaluate and approve electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with approved designs and project specifications.
• •Review load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, cable sizing calculations, and other engineering analyses.
• •Provide technical guidance and resolutions for site queries, RFIs (Requests for Information), NCRs, and engineering change requests.
• •Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Public Health, ELV, and BIM disciplines, to ensure effective project integration and clash-free design solutions.
• •Monitor construction activities remotely and provide engineering support to site teams to address technical challenges and maintain project progress.
• •Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (UAE), international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA, IEEE, etc.), client requirements, and project quality procedures.
• •Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress reviews with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• •Support BIM coordination activities and ensure electrical models meet project BIM execution plan requirements.

About You

• •Strong expertise in electrical design review and construction support.
• •Thorough understanding of electrical engineering codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• •Ability to manage remote engineering teams and site support activities effectively.
• •Proficiency in reviewing BIM models, engineering calculations, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• •Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• •Effective communication and leadership capabilities in multidisciplinary project environments.
• •This role requires a highly experienced electrical engineering professional capable of ensuring technical excellence, design compliance, and successful project execution while managing engineering and site support functions remotely.
• •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• •10+ years site experience; Middle East experience preferred

• •Review electrical submissions from contractors

• •Evaluate load calculations, cable sizing, and protection systems
• •Respond to technical queries
