Senior Engineering Manager

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to head the development and modernization of our Wholesale Lending Operations (WLO) Technology platforms and initiatives , based out of our Mississauga Technology Centre .

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the technology strategy, platform engineering, and execution behind Citi’s global wholesale lending and credit lifecycle ecosystem. You will lead teams delivering mission-critical platforms that power loan origination, servicing, syndication, collateral management, and workflow automation for the world’s largest corporate, institutional, and commercial clients.

Responsibilities:

• •Regulatory, Risk & Compliance Excellence: Ensure platforms adhere to rigorous regulatory commitments, audit readiness, information security mandates, and architectural governance standards.
• •Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Operations Leaders, Product Managers, Quantitative Analysts, Credit Risk Officers, and Global Architecture teams to align technology roadmaps with core business priorities.
• •Champion AI-Driven Engineering: Pioneer and institutionalize the adoption of GenAI developer tools, coding copilots, and automated CI/CD gating to accelerate development throughput and code quality.
• •Modern Architecture & Engineering Standards: Enforce best-in-class distributed systems engineering, API-first integrations, resilient event-driven pipelines (e.g., Kafka), and modern UI/micro-frontend architectures.
• •Quality & Continuous Delivery: Cultivate a culture of test automation, shift-left security, chaos engineering, and zero-downtime release practices.
• •Build & Mentor High-Performing Teams: Recruit, develop, and inspire top-tier software engineers, technical leads, and architects at the Mississauga site while orchestrating seamlessly with distributed global pods.
• •Inclusive & Innovative Culture: Foster an engineering culture defined by technical curiosity, continuous learning, psychological safety, and clear career progression pathways.

Recommended Qualifications:

• •10+ years of relevant experience
• •Domain Expertise: Strong background in Wholesale Lending. Familiarity with loan platforms is highly desirable.
• •Full-Stack / Distributed Systems Mastery: Deep technical foundation in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, Python, React/Angular), microservices architecture, and event streaming (Kafka/MQ).
• •Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and modern infrastructure-as-code.
• •GenAI & Tooling Enthusiasm: Active champion of modern developer tooling, GenAI productivity assistants, automated code analysis, and DevOps telemetry

Education:

• •Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• •Master’s degree preferred
