Senior Engineering Manager – Physical and Electrical Design

Job Description Summary

• You will lead the design team to enable successful Fixed Series Capacitor (FSC) and Synchronous Condenser (SC) project delivery for global Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects.
• Scope includes activities linked to the technical development and/or improvement of existing products and components. A key leader in driving the design and execution of the technical design and delivery of projects with impacts on safety, quality, delivery and productivity of own team. Has significant input into priorities and training plans to increase technical effectiveness of team.

Job Description

Role & Responsibility:

• •People Leadership for the team including development and reviews
• •Lead a team of design engineers in creation of physical, electrical and protection and control design documents and drawings
• •Participate in project and proposal schedule planning and ensure resource availability during both Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) phases
• •Support and drive team on achieving project delivery targets
• •Mentor first-time-right culture and development of skills
• •Responsible for leading overall requirement, design, implementation, and validation of design drawings for both FSC and SCs
• •Contribute or lead the identification, qualification, deployment, training and maintenance of design tools and processes, for use across the design team and where applicable across the engineering organization
• •Review and approve design documents, implement, and ensure quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost per engineering quality system processes
• •Play a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership, identifying potential project risks and technical weaknesses and proposing safe, reliable and compliant solutions
• •Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
• •Facilitate cost reduction, cycle improvement, quality and lean programs to improve product performance, cost and/or delivery
• •Provide hiring and onboarding leadership for design team

Required Qualifications:

• •Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience OR master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 8 years of related engineering experience.
• •At least 3 years project/team leadership experience.
• •Experience in 3D CAD library and/or database systems like Bentley OpenUtilities Substation.
• •Knowledge of and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards and codes as they apply to designs.
• •Strong oral and written communication skills.
• •Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel to support projects globally.

Desired Qualifications:

• •Experience with Bentley OpenUtilities Substation or other Bentley softwares, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.
• •Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems is a plus.
• •Experience in power system equipment application and/or design.
• •Experience in installation, field-testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including required safe work habits.
• •Experience in international projects with working exposure of international standards as IEC, IEEE etc.

The salary range for this position is 111,200.00 - 158,300.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 111,200.00 - 158,300.00 - 195,400.00 USD Annual

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
