This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Lonza has an opening for an experienced Facilities Engineer to join their growing team at their Bend, Oregon location. This role ensures reliable, GMP-compliant facility operations by supporting maintenance, managing capital projects, authoring technical documents, and collaborating cross-functionally to uphold site standards.

What you will do:

• •Ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of critical GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing and development facilities.
• •Serve as the site subject matter expert for facility systems, providing technical leadership during complex troubleshooting, investigations, and operational issues.
• •Lead reliability, sustainability, capacity, compliance, and lifecycle improvement initiatives for facility and utility systems.
• •Lead facility improvement projects and provide facilities engineering leadership for larger capital projects.
• •Develop, maintain, and review engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, P&IDs, SOPs, standards, and user requirement specifications.
• •Own facility-related change controls and provide technical leadership for investigations, corrective actions, and system performance improvements.
• •Mentor and develop engineers while providing technical direction to contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
• •Participate in the facilities on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for facility operations, maintenance activities, planned shutdowns, projects, alarms, and emergency response.

What we are looking for:

• •Industry Expertise: 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
• •Technical Leadership: Experience serving as a system owner for facility/utility systems and leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• •Facilities Engineering: Demonstrated experience with facility/utility systems, equipment reliability, maintenance strategies, and lifecycle management.
• •Mentorship: Experience developing, coaching, or mentoring engineers, technicians, or maintenance personnel.
• •Automation Systems: Practical experience with Building Automation and Management Systems (BAS/BMS).
• •Design Tools: Proficiency with 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD or DraftSight.
• •Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline required; M.S. preferred.
