Raytheon is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join our Field Engineering team. In this critical role, you will provide operational support for a United States Air Force worldwide deployable program.

This is an onsite, unaccompanied position that requires a long-term international assignment within EUCOM. The role is designated mission-essential, and additional compensation is provided. Work schedules may be irregular and are subject to change based on mission requirements. The assigned area of responsibility may include environments with potential hostile threats.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignments including comprehensive post-offer medical examination if required.

What You Will Do

• •Execute product implementations, modifications, and enhancements in alignment with customer specifications.
• •Support customer missions and initiatives through collaborative, team‑oriented field activities.
• •Maintain and complete all required customer and company training ahead of schedule.
• •Monitor, analyze, and characterize the performance of complex data‑processing systems.
• •Troubleshoot and isolate faults, identifying hardware versus software root causes.
• •Recommend, initiate, and oversee corrective actions to resolve system issues.
• •Maintain aircraft‑mounted sensor equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• •Provide U.S. Air Force flight‑line support for system operation and pre‑mission activities.
• •Assist with aircraft checkout and system validation prior to flight operations.
• •Integrate and update system software and hardware as required.
• •Collaborate with a globally dispersed group of users, analysts, contractor personnel, and customers.

Qualifications You Must Have

• •Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5+ years of prior engineering experience.
• •Experience in military operations, data processing, system administration, radar, infrared (IR), or radio‑frequency systems.
• •Proven expertise in sensor‑payload maintenance.
• •Proficiency with UNIX operating systems.
• •Understanding of radar fundamentals, U.S. Air Force flight‑line procedures and regulations, and Solaris environments.
• •Ability to deploy worldwide on short notice in support of mission requirements.
• •Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• •U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience with aircraft maintenance and flight‑line operations.
• •Knowledge of Military Equipment Accounts and Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
• •Experience working with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery.
• •Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics and diagrams for troubleshooting.
• •Hands‑on experience performing electrical wiring and cannon‑plug repairs; proficient with soldering tools.
• •Experience using digital oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters.
• •Skilled in fiber‑optic inspection and maintenance using digital fiber‑optic scopes and power meters.
• •Ability to maintain shop programs in accordance with Air Force Instructions (AFIs) with minimal supervision.
• •Strong oral and written communication skills.
• •Demonstrated teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating effectively with end users, analysts, internal personnel, and customers in global environments.

Special Work Conditions

• •Rotating shift work is required.
• •Travel and extended working hours are expected based on mission needs.
• •Ability to lift up-to 40 pounds and remain seated for extended periods.
• •Willingness and ability to obtain all inoculations required by the U.S. military.
• •Ability to deploy worldwide on short notice.
• •Willingness to work in environments that may include harsh or austere living conditions (extreme temperatures, limited amenities, deployed settings, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
