Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.

Te tūranga | The role

This is a key role responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Finance and Financial Systems, you'll take a lead role in delivering financial accounting and reporting activities across Te Pūtea Matua. You'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial information and supporting key internal and external reporting obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• •Leading monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, journals, and fixed asset accounting.
• •Preparing and reviewing statutory, regulatory, and management reporting.
• •Lead the production of the annual financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
• •Delivering financial information and forecasts for The Treasury reporting and fiscal update processes.
• •Providing technical accounting expertise and advice across the organisation including maintaining accounting policies.
• •Supporting Board and Audit Committee reporting and contributing to responses for OIAs, Parliamentary Questions, and other external requests.
• •Building strong relationships across the Bank to deliver high-quality financial outcomes.

We're looking for a collaborative and technically strong finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You'll bring:

• •Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with relevant post-qualification experience.
• •Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise.
• •Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
• •Experience preparing statutory reporting.
• •Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
• •A proactive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• •Experience with TechnologyOne (FMIS) Ci Anywhere would be advantageous.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $128,699 to $142,999 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
