Senior Financial Analyst, Inbound Operations Finance

In this position, you will support the development of scalable financial controllership frameworks that grow independently of building count and enable the transformation from a site-centric to hub-based structure. You'll analyze operational metrics to produce financial insights, help balance standardization with network-specific needs, and execute on AI-enabled finance transformation initiatives that have tangible business impact. Key job responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to surface financial insights that support cost optimization and business performance, leveraging Amazon's established financial processes, internal controls, and existing tools within defined frameworks.
• Build and maintain reporting mechanisms for anomaly detection and trend analysis, translating complex data into clear, digestible insights for finance and operations managers.
• Support operations teams in validating business case assumptions, tracking performance metrics, and executing on automated reporting systems that reduce manual work by 40-50%.
• Investigate data discrepancies and execute fixes to ensure reporting accuracy, flagging risks and recommending improvements to remediate gaps in financial controls.
• Work with cross-functional partners in finance, operations, supply chain, and technology to contribute to standardized processes and financial playbooks that scale independently of building count.

• A day in the life
• Your day begins with analyzing operational data to identify cost optimization opportunities across the Distribution Center network, specifically Storage and Distribution Centers, Amazon Warehousing and Distribution Centers and newly launching, Regional Distribution Center (rDC) network. You'll spend time developing or refining AI-powered dashboards that automatically detect anomalies and visualize trends. Throughout the day, you'll partner with operations teams to validate business assumptions, contribute to automated reporting systems, and participate in cross-functional councils where you'll provide financial perspectives on strategic operational decisions. You'll balance your analytical work with collaborative sessions, driving data quality improvements and system integration while validating productivity metrics.

• About the team
• Our team supports the Distribution Center network within Inbound Operations (formerly IXD+) playing a critical role as financial advocates and business partners. We design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reporting on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business. Team members partner closely with a broad range of Senior Leaders in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Technology.

Basic qualifications

• - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• - Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications

• - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
• - MBA, or CPA
• - Knowledge of Tableau
• - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
