The Senior Manager Human Resources directs the development and implementation of human resources strategies aligned with business objectives while fostering a culture of employee engagement, talent development, and organizational performance. This strategic HR leadership position serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating business priorities into practical workforce, talent, and change-management solutions. The role leads HR professionals, uses workforce data to guide executive decisions, and partners across Human Resources Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated people strategies.

Located in Irving, Texas, this opportunity supports the enterprises Global Finance organization and is ideal for a HR leader who combines strategic human resources expertise, people leadership, executive consulting, talent management, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior management as a strategic advisor, identifying and prioritizing human resources initiatives that support business goals, workforce requirements, and long-term organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that strengthen employee engagement, retention, talent development, and organizational performance.
  • Provide trusted counsel to executives and people leaders on complex HR matters, including performance management, organizational effectiveness, compensation, benefits, leadership development, and workforce planning.
  • Analyze workforce metrics, employee data, and business trends to identify opportunities, communicate meaningful insights, and deliver evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead and develop a team of HR leaders, building capability, clarifying priorities, and creating effective partnerships across HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Design and implement change-management plans, communications, and supporting materials that enable the successful adoption of HR programs and business transformation initiatives.
  • Connect talent strategies with current and future business needs, including leadership pipelines, succession planning, employee development, internal mobility, and retention.
  • Influence decisions across organizational boundaries by presenting business cases, risks, benefits, workforce implications, and recommended courses of action.

Required Skills

  • Business acumen: Extensive experience understanding business models, financial considerations, organizational priorities, and the impact of talent decisions on business outcomes.
  • Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
  • Executive HR consulting: Extensive experience advising leaders on a broad range of human resources issues while managing confidential information, multiple stakeholder relationships, and complex HR initiatives.
  • Decision-making and critical thinking: Ability to assess competing alternatives, validate assumptions, evaluate risks, and recommend productive courses of action based on informed judgment.
  • Influencing and stakeholder management: Ability to influence across functions and levels, build commitment, and clearly communicate the costs, benefits, risks, and organizational implications of a recommendation.
  • Talent management: Extensive experience supporting talent attraction, development, retention, leadership pipelines, and enterprise talent programs.
  • People leadership: Experience leading, developing, coaching, and aligning HR professionals or HR leaders around shared priorities.

Preferred Skills

  • Education: Degree or equivalent relevant experience desired
  • Senior-level experience supporting a complex, matrixed, global, technology, financial services, manufacturing, or industrial organization.
  • Experience advising executive leaders and building credibility with senior stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with succession planning, leadership development, strategic workforce planning, organizational design, and employee engagement.
  • Experience using Workday, HR analytics applications, dashboards, or other human resources information systems.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or an equivalent senior HR credential.
  • Working knowledge of global business considerations and the ability to collaborate effectively across countries, cultures, and regulatory environments.

Summary Pay Range:

$159,120.00 - $238,680.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
