Senior IT Engineer

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Senior IT Engineer to join our global team supporting and advancing our corporate computing environment. This role involves working with innovative technologies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, professional, and passionate about helping others while ensuring the reliability and performance of IT systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support for end users across workstations, servers, and mobile device platforms (hardware and software).

Support engineering applications running on Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS 7, and Windows 10.

Prepare, deploy, and ship new hardware to remote sites and end users.

Deploy and maintain on-premises hardware including routers, switches, servers, workstations, monitors, and printers.

Manage user accounts in on-premises Active Directory and cloud-based identity providers (e.g., Entra ID, LastPass/1Password).

Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and integrity.

Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues across hardware and software layers.

Create and maintain systems documentation for repeatability and compliance.

Escalate complex issues to subject matter experts when necessary.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field preferred

Experience:

5+ years of experience with Windows desktop support.

5+ years of experience with hardware maintenance tasks such as racking servers, switches, deploying workstations, setting up printers, etc.

Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as the OSI model, TCP/IP stack, communication protocols, firewalls, routing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

IT related certification from Red Hat, Microsoft, CompTIA, VMWare, etc.

2+ years of experience with Linux desktop support, preferably Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS 7+.

Experience with virtualization products such as Hyper-V or VMWare.

Experience with cloud Infrastructure as a Service such as AWS or Azure.

Experience with Cisco Meraki network infrastructure.

Experience with macOS, iOS, and Android devices.

Scripting and automation experience.

Experience with Dell iDRAC.
