- Support and train creative teams around the globe to strengthen their legal reflexes, working with other legal counsels to build the tools needed
- Keep an ear out for shifts in the legal landscape and business developments in the music and video game industries that could impact production
- Ensure conformity with Ubisoft’s business needs, policies and risk tolerance
- Anticipate and support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes
- Work closely with specialized outside counsel on sensitive pre-litigation matters
Relevant experience
- Significant experience in music law, spanning the publishing and/or recorded music fields, ideally gained in-house
- A strong track record drafting and negotiating music contracts under various legislations, including synchronization licenses, and working with collective management bodies
- Comfortable managing several projects at once in an international, multicultural environment
Skills and knowledge
- Bilingual French/English, equally comfortable drafting and negotiating in both languages
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to translate legal concepts for non-legal audiences
- Strong negotiation skills with a win-win mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguous or unfamiliar territory
- Emotionally intelligent and curious, with excellent judgment and the ability to build consensus across cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfortable balancing process streamlining with in-depth analysis, and not risk-averse
