The Senior Manager, Retail Operations oversees day-to-day operations for a retail electricity portfolio, ensuring reliable service, accurate market participation, regulatory compliance, settlement oversight, customer relations, and coordination with utilities, ISOs, RTOs, and other market participants. Success in this role requires independence, strong teamwork, and a growth mindset in a fast-paced environment.

This role is a key operational liaison among the company, wholesale power markets, utilities, customers, and internal commercial, scheduling, settlements, risk, and customer operations teams. The ideal candidate brings deep retail electricity operations expertise and practical experience with ISO/RTO market processes, utility requirements, and evolving regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities :

• •Lead the integration of new load contracts, including required market participation registrations and regulatory filings
• •Coordinate customer enrollment, load-serving obligations, scheduling requirements, and related operational activities
• •Work with utility and ISO/RTO personnel to resolve operational issues, including meter data, load discrepancies, EDI issues, and settlements
• •Participate in utility and ISO/RTO meetings, working groups, market calls, stakeholder discussions, and industry forums, as appropriate
• •Maintain strong relationships with utility account representatives, market operators, transmission/distribution providers, and third-party service providers
• •Manage daily operations supporting the company’s retail electricity portfolio across relevant utility territories and wholesale power markets
• •Coordinate with Trading, Origination, and Market Operations to ensure retail load obligations are properly managed
• •Establish and maintain operating procedures, controls, and workflows that improve accuracy, reliability, and scalability
• •Develop and maintain processes to monitor market deadlines and operational obligations
• •Partner with Settlements and Finance teams to ensure accurate utility and ISO/RTO settlement data
• •Oversee the integrity and timely flow of operational data between utilities, ISOs/RTOs, internal systems, and third-party providers
• •Ensure retail operations comply with applicable utility tariffs, ISO/RTO rules, state requirements, market protocols, and company policies
• •Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies with Risk, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams
• •Support the structuring and execution of retail supply agreements and long-term contracts
• •Prepare internal approval materials in collaboration with the broader team

Qualifications :

• •Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of retail experience in ERCOT and/or PJM load management, with familiarity with trading desk operations
• •Strong understanding of wholesale and retail power markets, including load, scheduling, metering, settlements, and market transactions
• •Strong communication and relationship-management skills, especially with external market and utility stakeholders
• •Preferred experience with EDI transactions, meter data management, energy management systems, or retail energy platforms
• •Results-oriented and self-driven, with strong initiative
