The Manager of Semiconductor Integration Engineering leads the development, integration, qualification, and transfer of customer-specific semiconductor technologies within Polar. This is a highly technical leadership role requiring both hands-on technical expertise and people management. The successful candidate will lead a team of four or more integration engineers (a mix of senior and junior talent) focused on discrete power silicon-based technologies while serving as the primary technical interface between customers, engineering teams, manufacturing, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of semiconductor integration engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and day-to-day support.
  • Drive the development, integration, qualification, and release of customer-specific discrete silicon technologies from concept through production.
  • Serve as the technical lead for assigned programs, making critical integration decisions and guiding cross-functional problem-solving efforts.
  • Define and optimize end-to-end process integration flows to achieve performance, reliability, yield, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to customers, understanding their requirements and pain points while developing and implementing effective solutions.
  • Drive execution to meet customer commitments, business objectives, and Board-level expectations.
  • Anticipate technical and program risks, proactively identify potential issues, and implement mitigation plans before they impact schedules or deliverables.
  • Lead technology transfer activities from development into manufacturing and support production ramp readiness.
  • Partner with process, device, yield, reliability, equipment, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering methodologies, development efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Allocate engineering resources according to project priorities and business needs while balancing multiple customer programs.
  • Escalate resource conflicts, competing priorities, and organizational challenges through the leadership chain as appropriate.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches, including DOE, SPC, yield analysis, and root-cause investigation, to improve technology performance and manufacturing outcomes.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience in process integration, technology development, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience leading semiconductor technology development programs from concept through production.
  • Prior people-management or technical leadership experience with responsibility for mentoring and developing engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics, process integration, and wafer fabrication processes, including lithography, etch, deposition, implant, diffusion, CMP, and metallization.
  • Experience in yield improvement, technology qualification, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing support.
  • Proven ability to influence across organizations, build strong customer relationships, and successfully deliver complex technical programs.

The ideal candidate combines deep semiconductor process integration expertise with strong leadership, customer engagement, and execution skills to deliver innovative technologies and successful business outcomes.
