Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Maritime Digital Production (MDP) is the software and digital systems function within Anduril's Heavy Metal division. We build and deploy the technology stack that powers Anduril's shipbuilding factories: the data infrastructure that makes every machine and sensor visible in real time, the manufacturing execution system that workers and planners use every shift, the scheduling engine that replans production in minutes instead of days, and the AI systems that remove manual toil from the shop floor and business operations. MDP operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, incubating solutions close to the production line, validating them with real operators, hardening them for reliability and security, and scaling them across sites. The environment is fast, physical, and consequential. When our systems go down, production stops. The output of our work is not a dashboard: it is a ship. MDP is scaling from a founding team to more than 70 engineers across multiple U.S. sites, and you will be joining early to shape how manufacturing software is built at Anduril.
ABOUT THE JOB
- As a Senior Product Manager for Manufacturing Software, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for the factory floor applications that production operators, supervisors, and manufacturing engineers rely on every shift. You will own the deployment of these products onto the factory floor, working shoulder to shoulder with the people who build ships to make sure the software earns its place in their workflow.
- Product Strategy
- You can “see around the corner” for your product, crafting the vision, high-level roadmap, and critical dependencies for 6 to 12 months into the future. You constantly engage with stakeholders to solicit input and buy-in, proactively communicating product goals and managing expectations for delivery. You escalate large tradeoffs and decision points as needed. You work effectively across many internal teams to synthesize their needs, but are never afraid to make important decisions as the owner of your product.
- Product Prioritization
- You work backward from your strategy to set clear outcomes for your portfolio in partnership with your engineering, design, and operations partners. You support team structures that allow prioritization of competing work within rapid development cycles, and you let your team flex to adapt goals when new information arrives.
- Problem Discovery and Solution Generation
- You become attached to problems, not solutions. You seek out real-world context through onsite user research on the factory floor, direct conversations with technicians and operators, internal expert feedback, existing product data, and industry investigation. You separate what a customer asks for from what a customer actually needs, capture core workflows, and translate them into well-scoped requirements and success hypotheses.
- Product Execution
- From design to delivery, you fill gaps wherever needed to make your well-scoped solutions a reality. You proactively communicate with internal team members and stakeholders, approach solutions with humility and creativity to hit milestones, and set a high bar for the product you own, including how it is deployed, adopted, and supported on the floor.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Developing a long-term strategy that navigates complex product tradeoffs, integration dependencies, and buy versus build decisions to push the manufacturing software domain forward
Gathering and refining both functional requirements and non-functional requirements such as tool capacity, performance, and reliability, and synthesizing them into a prioritized backlog
Communicating across stakeholders and interested parties on roadmap and delivery, and exercising the judgment to tell whether a stakeholder truly needs what they are asking for or whether the underlying problem is better solved another way
Walking the factory floor, talking directly with technicians and operators about how their work is going, and turning what you hear into opportunities to fix and improve the product
Navigating the organizational dynamics between Maritime Digital Production and partner platform teams, advocating from the customer point of view when Maritime's needs differ from how a platform team would prefer to build
Exploring and incorporating technologies that enhance Anduril's operational leverage
Driving adoption and enablement of manufacturing software across production and operations teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years in a software product management role or similar leading role in product development
Domain expertise within hardware-related industries such as manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, or logistics
Demonstrated ability to gather and refine both functional and non-functional requirements (such as capacity, performance, and reliability) and turn them into a prioritized backlog
Strong understanding of the interplay between enterprise systems, including ERP, WMS, MES, PLM, and supplier portals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across a wide range of technical comfort and to judge whether a request reflects a real underlying need
Demonstrated success working directly with end users in operational environments, including time spent on a production or factory floor observing workflows firsthand
Ability to navigate cross-team and cross-department dynamics, representing the customer point of view and building alignment when priorities differ
Ability to balance requirements across engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders
Demonstrated success decomposing a problem into addressable component parts and arranging the correct sequencing
Proven ability to “see around corners” by crafting product strategy for 6 to 12 months into the future
Comfort maturing a product from MVP to enterprise-grade production
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience building or owning manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor control systems, or operational software for factory, warehouse, or field environments
Hands-on experience in manufacturing industries with time spent on assembly lines or in production facilities working directly with operators and technicians
Experience with UI / UX web design tools (e.g. Figma)
Familiarity with frontier AI tooling and AI-assisted software development workflows
Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments, balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term platform health
Background in operations research, industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies
