Senior Project Finance Manager

Job Description Summary

Project Finance Controller has overall responsibility for all reporting and controlling requirements for project portfolio of Large & complex HVDC projects along with HVDC refurbishment projects, ACS, FACTS projects. Serve as a strategic business partner to the Project Director, driving commercial excellence and financial rigor. Act as the financial architect of project delivery, provide high-level analytical insights that influence project strategy, optimize cost structures, and expand margins. Collaborate closely with cross-functional execution teams, champion a culture of proactive risk management and operational efficiency, ensuring that project execution translates into sustainable profitability and superior business performance.

Job Description

• •Lead the identification and realization of margin improvement opportunities across the portfolio. Critically evaluate project execution plans to challenge assumptions, identify potential savings, and drive corrective actions that protect and enhance the bottom line.
• •Conduct detailed project reviews covering overall project status, engineering progress, procurement plans, project schedules, risks, and opportunities.
• •Lead discussions with regional and HQ management teams, providing meaningful insights into project performance and financial outcomes.
• •Act as the primary financial advisor to the Project Director. Partner with Functional Managers and Engineering leader to shape operational strategy, providing data-driven insights that steer project outcomes from handover to project closure.
• •Perform rigorous analysis of cost-to-complete (CTC) trajectories and challenging expenditure drivers. Facilitate deep-dive reviews to pinpoint potential inefficiencies and lead the implementation of optimized execution workflows.
• •Spearhead the development of accurate, forward-looking project forecasts. Use predictive analysis to support APAC region leadership in strategic decision-making, ensuring that risks are identified early and mitigated through cross-functional engagement.
• •Lead the financial assessment of project risks and uncertainties. Proactively engage with project stakeholders to develop and execute mitigation plans, turning identified threats into manageable outcomes and maximizing hidden opportunities for value creation.
• •Oversee financial governance to improve operational discipline. Ensure project methodologies and internal frameworks are leveraged to streamline execution and improve transparency.
• •Identify systemic barriers to project performance and lead initiatives resulting in smooth project execution. Act as a change agent to foster a culture of high-performance and financially disciplined project execution.

Required Qualifications

• •At least 5-6 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a projects business
• •Qualified accountant, CA / CFA / CS / CMA / Graduate / B Com
• •Experience of accounting in a project environment
• •Strong Analytical Skills
• •Good Communication and influencing skills
• •Strong excel skills required
• •Knowledge of an ERP system, strong preference for SAP
• •Fluency in English is essential
