Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated and competent Senior Resident – General Surgery to provide clinical and surgical care to patients under the supervision of Consultants and the Department leadership. The role involves patient assessment, peri-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, emergency care and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

• Key Responsibilities
• •Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of surgical patients.
• •Assist Consultants in elective and emergency surgical procedures .
• •Independently perform appropriate minor surgical procedures as per competence and departmental requirements.
• •Conduct pre-operative assessment and ensure patients are adequately prepared for surgery.
• •Provide post-operative monitoring and management, including identification of complications.
• •Attend to surgical emergencies and provide timely intervention under Consultant guidance.
• •Conduct daily rounds and ensure appropriate follow-up of admitted patients.
• •Manage and coordinate patient care with nursing, ICU, anaesthesia and other clinical departments.
• •Perform and assist with procedures such as suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, catheterisation and other procedures as per clinical requirements.
• •Maintain accurate and timely patient records, clinical notes and discharge summaries.
• •Participate in emergency duties, on-call services and departmental rosters.
• •Participate in academic activities, clinical meetings and teaching sessions.
• •Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical care.

• Qualification
• •MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery .
• •Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.

• Experience
• •Relevant experience in General Surgery in a hospital setting.
• •Good exposure to emergency and elective surgical procedures.
• •Experience in managing post-operative and critically ill surgical patients will be preferred.
