• The Role and the Team
• We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Manager, Revenue Recognition and be responsible for the day-to-day revenue accounting as part of a broader team. The ideal candidate will be one who is a proactive learner, takes initiative, and is a great team player. Candidate will be a talented and passionate individual who is interested in joining and helping us take Proofpoint to the next level.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in our Draper, UT office - 4 days a week.

• Job Requirements
• The What:

Demonstrate proficiency with revenue accounting rules under ASC 606 by performing deal review on multiple-element SaaS & software arrangements to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment

Contribute to process and system improvements in the revenue cycle including ERP system enhancement and projects

Prepare analyses, journal entries, and related account reconciliations

Participate in the monthly close

Assist in preparation of audit requests as needed

Perform processes and procedures to comply with SOX 404 control framework

Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned

The How:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, ideally CPA, CPA candidate, or similar level

Experience in accounting in industry and/or public accounting, focus on SaaS & software revenue recognition required

Proficient technical and operational knowledge of ASC 606 and multiple-element arrangements

Ability to form excellent relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Manage multiple priorities well and handle assigned tasks with attention to detail

Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving and follow through

Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements, time constraints, and deadlines

Take a clean sheet approach when revisiting operational processes

Proficient with Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Zuora Revenue is a plus

Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 98,900.00 - 155,430.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 78,800.00 - 123,805.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 70,400.00 - 110,605.00 USD
