Position Summary:

The Senior SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Analyst is responsible for SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) configuration and support within an SAP S/4HANA environment. Plant Maintenance and Enterprise Asset Management are a single SAP solution area; this position covers the maintenance planning, execution, and work management side of that area, including the cost capture that connects maintenance activity to asset valuation and managerial cost accounting, while the Enterprise Asset Management positions cover asset structuring and asset accountability, in support of a large-scale, greenfield SAP S/4HANA financial management modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) organization. As the senior plant maintenance authority on the program, the analyst owns maintenance process design, including maintenance strategy, work management, and the cost flows that connect maintenance execution to asset accounting and cost accounting. This position operates at the Senior level of the C5MI job architecture and contributes to delivery across a five-gate milestone structure spanning pre-design approval, preliminary design review, critical design review, production readiness review, and closeout.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Owns end-to-end solution design for plant maintenance, including maintenance strategy, work management, planning and scheduling, and maintenance cost flows.

Designs the maintenance planning and execution model, including notification and order process flows, task list strategy, maintenance plan architecture, and scheduling approach across asset classes.

Designs preventive, corrective, condition-based, and predictive maintenance approaches and the data capture required to operate them.

Designs the maintenance cost architecture, including cost capture at the order level and settlement to cost centers, assets, and projects, ensuring maintenance activity is correctly reflected in asset valuation and managerial cost accounting.

Designs the integration between plant maintenance and materials management, enterprise asset management, asset accounting, controlling, and project systems.

Designs role-based access and work authorization strategy for maintenance planners, supervisors, technicians, and operational leadership in coordination with the security function.

Designs mobile and disconnected maintenance execution approaches, including transaction capture and synchronization under degraded network conditions.

Solves complex problems spanning multiple variables, modules, and interfacing systems; owns a workstream or key solution component within the assigned process area.

Leads design for the assigned functional area, including options analysis, effort and risk assessment, and presentation of recommendations to the solution architecture function.

Serves as the recognized subject matter expert for the discipline, supporting milestone gate reviews, government working groups, and formal design review response.

Mentors and develops consultants at the III level, raising functional depth and design maturity across the team.

Supports authority to operate, cybersecurity, audit, and compliance activities associated with the program, including production of control evidence for assigned configuration.

Supports cutover, go-live, and post-deployment hypercare activities for assigned scope, and contributes to transition of the delivered capability into the sustainment organization.

Travels to client sites up to 50% to support workshops, design sessions, testing events, cutover, and go-live activities, varying based on client program schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Master’s degree or advanced certification a plus); 5-7 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or 7-10 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

5+ years of SAP Plant Maintenance functional experience, including design ownership on at least one full lifecycle implementation.

Deep expertise in maintenance planning and execution design, including maintenance strategies, task lists, maintenance plans, work order management, and refurbishment processing.

Demonstrated experience designing maintenance cost flows and settlement to cost centers, assets, and projects.

Strong knowledge of plant maintenance integration with materials management, asset accounting, controlling, and project systems.

Demonstrated experience leading workshops and facilitating design sessions with business and technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to own workstreams and key solution components and to solve complex problems with minimal oversight.

Experience supporting multi-system SAP landscapes and enterprise-scale implementations.

Secret security clearance required: must hold an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one prior to assignment (requires U.S. citizenship).

Nice to Have:

Active Secret security clearance at time of hire.

Experience supporting federal ERP modernization programs, Department of War (DoW) SAP environments, or other defense business systems acquired under DoDI 5000.75.

Experience with SAP Fiori applications supporting mobile maintenance execution.

Experience with predictive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Experience supporting asset-intensive defense, aerospace, logistics, or manufacturing organizations.

Experience with linear asset management.

Industry or vendor certification relevant to the discipline; relevant certifications include SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Asset Management, or an equivalent SAP functional certification.

Experience designing a maintenance strategy across mixed asset classes, including reliability-centered maintenance program design.

Experience designing maintenance cost settlement architecture spanning cost centers, assets, and projects.
