The Senior Social Strategy Manager supports the delivery of key community and social impact initiatives across Europe. This role contributes specialist guidance, coordinated delivery across the development life-cycle and helps ensure initiatives align with QTS' vision, values and business priorities.
The position is directly involved in social value and community programmes as well as corporate events. Travel to QTS locations across Europe is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of a Europe-wide community and social impact plan across pre-design, development, construction, operational and legacy phases.
- Coordinate community and social impact activities, ensuring consistent execution while adapting programmes to local needs and requirements.
- Provide practical guidance and support on social value matters.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative partnerships and sustainable social outcomes.
- Work with Procurement and relevant business teams to incorporate agreed social and economic impact requirements into procurement processes.
- Coordinate with principal contractors and supply-chain partners on community and social impact requirements, including the collection, monitoring and reporting of performance information.
- Identify potential external partnerships, resources and funding opportunities that may increase the social impact generated by data centre development.
- Support the development of social and economic key performance indicators for European data centre developments.
- Collect, analyse and summarise programme data to help demonstrate social and economic impact to internal and external stakeholders.
- Research and recommend adaptable community and social impact measurement approaches that can support ESG reporting and demonstrate contribution to relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve programme effectiveness, consistency and stakeholder engagement, escalating recommendations where needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Relevant experience, preferably in social value, corporate social responsibility, Human Resources, programme management or a related field.
- Seven or more years of relevant experience in social value, employee engagement, People Services or a related area.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programmes, projects or regional initiatives from planning through delivery.
- Experience coordinating stakeholders, external partners, contractors or supply-chain contributors.
- Experience using performance measures and reporting to track programme outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting major programmes, strategic planning or multi-site initiatives in a complex or growing organisation.
Experience leading project teams, work streams or programme contributors, with or without direct people-management responsibility.
Experience working across European markets and adapting programmes to different local contexts.
Other Key Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility and work effectively with employees, leaders, external partners and community stakeholders.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.
- Sound programme and project management capability, with strong organisation, follow-through and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and coordinate across functions without relying on formal authority.
