Senior Software Development Engineer, AZA

Amazon's People eXperience and Technology (PXT) organization is redefining how employees interact with HR systems, policies, and processes through conversational AI. As a Senior Software Engineer on our AI-powered HR assistant team, you will own the technical architecture, design, and build for our generative AI platform at a moment when the underlying technology is advancing faster than at any point in our industry's history.

Our conversational AI assistant serves Amazonians at scale across multiple HR domains, helping employees navigate everyday workplace needs seamlessly. We're expanding: bringing more HR experiences into conversational workflows, building advanced platform capabilities that make the assistant smarter with every interaction, and driving the operational fundamentals (accuracy, latency, quality) that earn employee trust. You will architect, design, build, and ship production AI systems.

To fuel this mission, we are growing our Engineering team in Hyderabad.

Basic qualifications

• - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

• - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
