EBS is a rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company and part of Alarm.com. Alarm.com is the leading cloud-based platform for smart security and the Internet of Things. More than 7.6+ million home and business owners depend on our solutions every day to make their properties safer, smarter, and more efficient. We’re innovating new technologies in rapidly evolving spaces including AI, video analytics, facial recognition, machine learning, energy analytics, and more.
As a Senior Software Engineer – iOS, you will serve as a technical leader on our mobile team, building and shaping the Alarm.com iOS application used by millions of customers every day to secure and manage their homes and businesses. Our mobile team works across the full spectrum of customer experiences, including real-time video streaming, IoT device controls, security system management, and smart home automation. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of complex technical solutions, mentor fellow engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions that impact the platform at scale. Typical projects include Swift and SwiftUI feature development, advanced iOS media and streaming workflows, and integration with backend service layers and shared mobile infrastructure. Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, and clear communication are essential. We are looking for someone who can own major initiatives from concept through delivery while collaborating effectively with iOS engineers, backend teams, QA, product managers, and partner teams across the organization. Very few companies innovate across as broad a technology surface as Alarm.com. This position is ideal for candidates who want a collaborative, people-first culture and the opportunity to work closely with experts across wireless, software, and hardware/device technologies to create outstanding consumer products.
We are building a new team in Krakow. Our employees work fully from the office with the possibility to work remotely occasionally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design and development of complex iOS features for our flagship mobile application used by millions of customers.
Own the full project lifecycle—from requirements and architecture to implementation, release, and iteration—with deep cross-team collaboration.
Architect and implement real-time video capabilities using iOS media technologies and streaming protocols such as RTSP, WebRTC, and SRTP.
Deliver responsive, performant, and maintainable experiences using SwiftUI while integrating with UIKit and legacy surfaces where appropriate.
Define and champion best practices for platform consistency, reliability, and observability across the iOS codebase.
Drive research, evaluation, and adoption of new iOS technologies and methodologies to solve complex project goals and improve code quality.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design discussions, architecture guidance, and pair programming.
Contribute to cross-functional architecture decisions that affect multiple teams and long-term mobile platform direction.
Exercise strong technical judgment, balancing delivery speed with durable, scalable solutions.
Bring your ideas: we want senior engineers to help shape the product roadmap, not just implement predefined specs.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of professional iOS development experience.
Deep proficiency in Swift, including idiomatic language usage, performance considerations, and modern concurrency patterns.
Extensive experience with Xcode, iOS SDK, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, coordinator-driven navigation, modular design).
Proven track record designing and delivering production-quality, scalable iOS applications.
Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON models, and complex backend service integration.
Solid command of asynchronous programming using Swift Concurrency and task coordination patterns.
Experience with modular app architecture, dependency management, and package-based code organization at scale.
Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions.
Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in mobile applications.
BONUS POINTS FOR…
Deep video streaming expertise with AVFoundation, VideoToolbox, WebRTC, and low-latency media pipeline implementations.
Hands-on experience integrating native or binary iOS media frameworks (including xcframework-based SDKs).
Strong SwiftUI implementation experience for modern declarative UI development.
Advanced knowledge of iOS platform services and app lifecycle behavior across multiple app targets.
Familiarity with mixed Swift and Objective-C codebases and interoperability best practices.
Understanding of mobile security best practices, including Keychain usage, secure storage, authentication hardening, and certificate pinning.
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for iOS applications.
Knowledge of mobile analytics and crash-reporting tools (for example Crashlytics, Firebase, or Sentry).
Exposure to the broader Apple ecosystem, including iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, widgets, or extensions.
Experience with backend-facing service layers and production API contracts in large-scale apps.
Background with IoT protocols or smart-home / connected-device ecosystems.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Collaborate with outstanding people: we have a strong focus on teamwork, and we invest in a supportive environment that helps every engineer do their best work.
Make an immediate impact: you can expect to own and drive significant features that reach millions of users, with visible influence from day one.
Work with modern technologies: our iOS stack includes Swift, SwiftUI, Xcode, modular Swift Package Manager architecture, Swift Concurrency, and integration with backend service frameworks.
Lead and be empowered: we want senior engineers to shape architecture, guide technical decisions, and elevate the engineers around them.
Grow in a technically diverse environment: your work will span mobile platform architecture, real-time streaming systems, performance tuning, and product delivery at scale.
Long-term employment based on a permanent employment contract (CoE).
Attractive benefits package: including medical care, life insurance, sports package, annual budget for professional development ($2,000).
