About the opportunity

Fortress Safety is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the development and performance of our global supply base. You'll report to the Head of Supply Chain.

You'll own supplier quality and compliance from start to finish: supplier selection and approval, development, risk management and continuous improvement. This is a chance to shape a resilient supply chain that helps keep people safe around the world.

What you'll be doing

• •Acting as the lead point of contact for supplier quality, working with our supplier quality team in China and our global internal quality team
• •Defining, putting in place and improving global supplier quality processes, including supplier evaluation, approval, NPI and change activities
• •Leading supplier issue resolution, from problem definition and containment through root cause analysis to corrective and preventive actions
• •Working closely with Procurement on strategy, category management and supplier relationships
• •Bringing new ideas to supplier risk assessment and mitigation
• •Supporting responsible sourcing and compliance, and helping manage supply shortages and disruption
• •Supporting new product introduction with supplier readiness and capability
• •Travelling in the UK and abroad as needed

What you'll bring

Must-have

• •Experience in a leading role developing supplier quality teams, ideally in a progressive or high-growth environment
• •Broad supplier and manufacturing quality expertise, including component engineering
• •Experience supporting customer and third-party audits (compliance, certification, management systems)
• •Proven supplier risk assessment across business, design, quality, manufacturing, testing and sustainability
• •A strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS/EMS) and core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA and control plans
• •Hands-on experience in electronics and mechanical manufacturing, with strong problem-solving and failure analysis skills

Nice-to-have

• •Knowledge of mechanical commodities: castings, machining and plastics
• •Knowledge of electronics: PCBs, semiconductors and assemblies
• •Familiarity with assembly and test processes such as SMT and box build, plus traceability and ESD/IPC standards
