Senior Systems Engineer (プリセールスSE) – Japan

Enterprise networking in Japan is evolving fast. Wi-Fi 7, cloud-managed infrastructure, and modern security architectures are reshaping how enterprises build and manage their networks. NETGEAR is growing its presence in Japan and we are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who wants to be at the front of that shift.

This is a rare opportunity to be the primary technical voice for a global networking brand in Japan, working directly with enterprise customers, channel partners, and a collaborative global engineering team. If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, building trusted customer relationships, and seeing the direct impact of your work, this is the right opportunity for you.

We know the perfect candidate may not check every box, and that is okay. If you have a strong networking foundation, a customer-facing mindset, and a genuine passion for technology, we want to hear from you.

Where You Will Work

Based in Japan, Tokyo area preferred

Hybrid environment, remote with regular on-site customer visits

Domestic travel approximately 25 to 50% depending on projects

What You Will Do

Be the go-to technical resource for enterprise customers and channel partners across Japan, leading solution design, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts

Design and support deployment of enterprise networking solutions including switching, routing, wireless, security, and cloud-managed platforms

Present technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences including enterprise IT teams, channel partners, and senior stakeholders

Support channel partners including MSPs, VARs, and distributors through joint engagements and technical guidance

Work closely with NETGEAR's global engineering and product teams, contributing field feedback that directly influences our product roadmap

Own the technical handoff from pre-sales to post-sales, supporting customers through onboarding, troubleshooting, and escalation management

Stay current on enterprise networking trends and the evolving technology landscape in Japan

What We Are Looking For

5 or more years of experience in a systems engineering, network engineering, or customer-facing technical role such as pre-sales SE or technical sales

Solid Layer 2/3 networking fundamentals including switching, VLANs, routing, and QoS

Familiarity with Wi-Fi technologies including Wi-Fi 6, 6E, or 7. Deep expertise is not required; a willingness to learn and grow in this area is what matters

Strong troubleshooting skills across wired and wireless enterprise environments

Business-level Japanese for all customer and partner engagement

Functional English for internal communication and collaboration with global teams

Nice to Have, But Not Required

Experience with cloud-managed networking platforms such as NETGEAR Insight, Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central, or Juniper Mist

Familiarity with Zero Trust security concepts

RF planning tool experience such as Ekahau or Hamina

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, or equivalent

Experience working with channel partners, MSPs, or mid-market enterprise customers

Familiarity with AV over IP solutions and the ProAV space

What You Can Expect From NETGEAR

A collaborative, close-knit global team that genuinely supports each other

The opportunity to represent a globally recognized networking brand as the face of NETGEAR in Japan

Direct access to product and engineering leadership, where your field insights will shape our roadmap

A company that is growing its Japan presence and investing in the right people to lead that growth

Competitive compensation and a flexible hybrid work environment
