Service Technician

OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications to fill the role of a mechanically inclined Service Technician to join our team based out of our location in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing wellsite rental units and supporting equipment.

We welcome applicants with experience in oilfield rentals, building maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, repair or other related hands-on experience.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 years experience as service technician (field/well sites/oilfield rentals)

Mechanical or electrical background is an asset

Experience using hand and power tools is considered an asset.

Previous loader experience is an asset

Valid safety certifications with First Aid/CPR, TDG, WHMIS, CSTS, CSO and H2S Alive

Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract and reliable transportation/ability to travel as required.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills

Excellent problem-solving abilities

Ability to work within a dynamic team environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain, service and install equipment on site; includes powering up well sites, starting the furnace and water tanks, and pressuring up the water system

Replace power switches and plug in’s, as well as trouble shoot electrical and mechanical issues

Repairs and maintenance of furnace air conditioning and hot water tanks, washer dryer units, plumbing system including water pump / lines cooper, taps, shower valves, toilets and rubber roof repairs

Exterior repairs to building, removal and replaces damaged tin/plywood shutters doors, etc.

Knowledge of light trucks, pumps and storage trucks

Respond to customer calls in a prompt and efficient manner

Other similar duties as required

LOCATION

This position will be based out of Grande Prairie, AB and will require some travel
