Electrical Service Technician

A Kortman Electrical Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical service while providing an exceptional client experience. This position operates in alignment with Kortman’s Core Values, maintaining professionalism, accountability, and integrity always.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform electrical service work, maintenance, and troubleshooting at commercial and industrial job sites

Diagnose issues, develop effective plans of action, and execute repairs safely and efficiently

Identify and overcome unforeseen field conditions with sound judgment and technical expertise

Provide professional, client-facing service that reflects Kortman’s standards and values

Utilize digital tools and platforms for scheduling, dispatching, documentation, and billing

Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed

Operate independently, performing assignments out of a service vehicle

May lead or coordinate work activities of apprentices, trade partners, or subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience:

Journey-level electrical experience as a Service Technician

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop job-site work plans

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

Electrical controls

Solar operations and maintenance

Medium-voltage systems

Conveyors and automation

Low voltage systems (fire alarm, fiber optics, security, communications, data)

Technology Requirements:

Ability and willingness to use smartphones, tablets, and computers for daily work functions

Comfort navigating field service software, reporting tools, and digital communication platforms

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain an insurable driving record

Ability to safely operate a company vehicle

Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including motor vehicle record review, drug screening, and background check, consistent with applicable law
