1. Site Preparation (Start-up):

• •Participate in site handover tasks and responsibilities and document them.
• •Develop mitigation plans for follow-up activities following the handover from the Project Quality Leader (PQL).
• •Participate in project site kick-off and review Quality Assurance (QA) contractual requirements.
• •Establish project-specific Supplier Quality Requirements (SQR) in coordination with the Supplier Quality organization.
• •Implement project-specific methods or procedures based on client requirements.
• •Take ownership of and apply the standard Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), updating it as necessary.
• •Review supplier documentation requests and update requirements according to contract specifics.
• •Analyze lessons learned from previous projects and propose applicable improvements.
• •Establish a project audit plan and conduct criticality assessments.
• •Create and obtain client approval for the Inspection and Test Plan for site assembly.
• •Prepare the site quality record book in accordance with contract and GE requirements.

2. Project Execution :

• •Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the implementation of quality plans and procedures.
• •Control document distribution, measuring devices, material traceability, and quality records.
• •Manage the registration and resolution of Non-Conformity Reports (NCR/NCM).
• •Produce inspection reports and maintain records of instruments and welder qualifications.
• •Supervise inspectors and inspection companies on-site.
• •Participate in audits and ensure that subcontractors have calibrated instruments.
• •Ensure all special processes are identified and personnel are properly qualified.
• •Collect and organize quality records for the site quality record book.
• •Conduct project audits and monitor corrective actions.
• •Manage non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• •Provide QA performance statistics and manage client claims.

3. Project Closure (Pre-demobilization) :

• •Drive the closure of open items such as punch lists and non-conformity issues.
• •Record lessons learned at the end of the project and ensure project files are closed.
• •Coordinate handover milestones and document "as-built" processes.

Qualifications :

• •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• •Ability to work remotely at a hydroelectric power plant.
• •Extensive experience in quality engineering within construction or industrial projects.
• •Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
• •Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• •Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• •The candidate must possess an excellent level of English

Desired Characteristics:

• •Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in mechanical engineering (preferred) from an accredited school.
• •1 to 5 years of experience in heavy mechanical installation.
• •The candidate must have a strong personality and the ability to learn quickly.
• •The candidate must be bright and motivated by on-site heavy mechanical installation.
• •The candidate must have a good level of English.
• •The candidate will work at various power plant sites. Must be willing to travel and be present at the installation site full-time.
