Site Supervisor - Electrical Testing

The Role

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and quality assurance of Electrical Engineers and Improvers undertaking Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), Rising Lateral Mains Testing (RLM) and associated remedial works across the NHG contract.

Reporting to the Qualified Supervisor (QS), the post-holder supports the delivery of statutory compliance obligations by ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable legislation, industry standards, client requirements and company procedures.

The Site Supervisor acts as the first point of escalation for operational and site-based issues, providing technical support, coaching and supervision to engineers while supporting the QS in maintaining compliance, quality standards, engineer competency and contractual performance.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working predominately on site within South and West London.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Electrical Engineers and Improvers, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management and support with career development.

Supervise the delivery of EICRs, RLM testing and remedial works across the NHG contract, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

Provide technical guidance and promote consistent standards and best practice across the team.

Carry out site inspections, quality checks and post-inspections to ensure workmanship and technical compliance.

Ensure all works comply with BS 7671, relevant electrical and building safety regulations, RAMS, company procedures and client requirements.

Monitor team performance against contractual SLAs, identifying and escalating risks, quality concerns, defects and non-conformances.

Support the Qualified Supervisor with compliance programmes, certification reviews, audits, technical escalations and corrective actions.

Assist with toolbox talks, safety briefings and training to develop team capability and maintain high standards.

Monitor work in progress, helping to resolve issues and remove barriers to timely completion.

Liaise professionally with residents, clients and other stakeholders, maintaining a positive customer experience.

Complete electrical testing, inspection, installation and remedial works where required to support operational delivery.

Ensure job records, photographs, certification and other documentation are accurate, complete and submitted within required timescales.

Support the QS with quotations, variations, material ordering and WIP reviews.

Maintain personal and team CPD, participate in appraisals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, health & safety and client requirements, including Awaab’s Law.

Qualifications

Essential :

City and Guilds NVQ level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or equivalent

AM2 practical assessment.

City and Guilds 2391-51 or equivalent

City and Guilds 2382-18 – BS7671 18th Edition update.

Detailed working knowledge of BS 7671, Electrical Safety Standards Regulations and EICR processes within residential and social housing environments.

Experience supporting/ supervising engineers and maintaining quality standards within an electrical compliance environment.

Strong IT skills, including client portals, mobile workforce systems, certificate-management software (PDF upload with naming conventions) and Microsoft 365.

Demonstrable experience operating as a Qualified Supervisor within an NICEIC, NAPIT or equivalent accredited environment
