Social Worker/Senior Practitioner - Assessment

Competitive salary of £38,220 - £45,091 at Social Worker level per annum (DOE) or a salary of £46,142 - £49,282 at Senior Practitioner level (DOE)

About the Role

As a member of the Children’s Assessment Service, your responsibilities will include:

Providing timely and effective support to children and families.

Participating in a duty rota, receiving and managing referrals from MASH

Completing high-quality, evidence-based assessments to identify risks, strengths and support needs.

Lead Section 47 Child Protection Investigations where safeguarding concerns require further assessment.

Work closely with children, families and partner agencies to develop effective intervention plans.

Ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time to achieve positive and lasting outcomes.

Developing clear recommendations and plans that promote safety, wellbeing and long-term stability.

Working within a supportive team environment with guidance from experienced managers.

Contributing to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare through effective assessment and decision-making.

About You

We are looking for passionate and committed social workers who are motivated to deliver excellent services for children and families. To be considered, you will have:

A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)

Registration with Social Work England

Completion of ASYE

Experience within Children's Social Care, safeguarding or family support services

Strong assessment, communication and relationship building skills

A commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
