ABOUT NOVUS & THE ROLE

Novus Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Pvt. Ltd. builds robotics and automation solutions across ADAS, Mobile Robotics, and Defence Robotics. The Mobile Robotics team is looking for a Junior software Developer to support the development and feature enhancement of the Fleet Management System (FMS) — the software platform that orchestrates, monitors, and coordinates fleets of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in real time. This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone early in their career who wants to build production software that directly controls physical robots operating in live environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• •Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for the Fleet Management System using Java and Spring Boot.
• •Support core FMS functions such as robot task allocation, traffic management, order/mission dispatch, and fleet status monitoring.
• •Integrate FMS modules with robot-side software over MQTT / REST / WebSocket for real-time telemetry and command exchange.
• •Write and maintain unit, integration, and system tests to ensure reliability of multi-robot coordination logic.
• •Work with relational and time-series databases to store fleet, task, and telemetry data.
• •Debug and troubleshoot issues across the software stack, including field issues reported from live robot deployments.
• •Collaborate with senior developers, robotics engineers, and QA to translate requirements into working features.
• •Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and documentation of FMS modules.
• •Support deployment and monitoring of FMS services in staging and production environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
• •1–3 years of professional software development experience, ideal fitment would be from the FMS mobile robotics domain.
• •Strong programming fundamentals in Java, with hands-on experience in Spring Boot (REST APIs, Spring Data, Spring Security basics).
• •Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and SQL.
• •Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
• •Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD workflows.
• •Good debugging and problem-solving skills; comfortable reading logs and tracing issues across services.

PREFERRED / GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• •Exposure to messaging/streaming protocols used in robotics (MQTT, WebSocket, Kafka, or similar).
• •Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker; basic Kubernetes exposure a plus).
• •Understanding of ROS/ROS2 concepts or prior exposure to robotics/automation software.
• •Experience with time-series or NoSQL databases (InfluxDB, MongoDB, Redis).
• •Basic knowledge of path planning, task scheduling, or fleet/traffic management concepts.
• •Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) for deployment and monitoring.
• •Prior internship or project experience involving IoT, automation, or real-time systems.
